Bad news first. A swift email from amazon.com sadly revealed that Kingdom Hearts II: vol. 3 has been taken off the plate of Tokyopop, a publisher of all of the previous Kingdom Hearts manga. No doubt the cancellation is due to <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-06-03/tokyopop-to-restructure">Tokyopop's company restructuring</a>, resulting in a scaled-back operation of manga publishing. It is unknown at this time whether we will see the rest of the KHII manga at a later date or picked up by another publisher. Perhaps Disney Press will be the one, seeing as they are releasing Shiro Amano's side stories: The First Door and Darkness Within, which are expected Aug. 5, 2008.
Meanwhile, a small feast of images for the new Play Arts figurines have cropped up. Like the previous Play Arts Sora figures, the new Riku, Sora and Mickey figures have 20 articulation points for all-purpose posing. They retail for $24.99US with a tentative release date of end of December.
