I didn't know where to put this but since it's something about me getting kh2 fm+ imported i need to ask 1 question.

Does Swap Magic break your ps2? i just need to know before i buy the game which would be around Oct.20 since am getting it for my b-day.

Also, if i do buy a jap. ps2 do i need a jap. memory card as well?

Swap Magic can't break your PS2, only your own mistakes can.

Go online. Find a store that sells it. Buy it.

I think that the KHII portion is using the English vocal track (correct me if I'm wrong), but any additional cutscenes and the CoM section of the game will use Japanese voices. For those, you'll need to either know Japanese pretty fluently or know one of the three writing systems (either kanji, hiragana or katakana; don't know which one they use for the script on the bottom of the screen).

Well you are right on all counts, expect for needing to know Japanese to play the games. Really I know no Japanese what so ever and I can play the game perfectly fine. The only thing I needed was a translated list of all the abilities in KH2:FM and I was able to play the game perfectly. All of the items in the game even have a picture with them so it is easy to see what they are.

As for Re:CoM, if you have played the first CoM you will be fine. I mean it is cards with numbers on them for the battle system, really not that hard.

For Swap Magic (to Roxas), no it doesn't break your PS2. Being a idiot and doing something stupid when using Swap Magic breaks your PS2. Just look up some guides online on how to use your version of Swap Magic correctly and you should be fine.

Your memory card should work if you have the space.

^ Basically he means, no you won't. Sorry, just clearing up what you said, because Your post didn't really seem to answer his qeustion.

And Swap Magic Doesn't break your PS2, take it from someone who voided their PS2'd warrenty and took it apart to do it. But it all depends on which type of Swap Magic you use. I used the flip top, its really cool once installed, so it was all worth it.

He asked if he needed a Jap one or his normal one. This implies he has either: one card and it's not Jap or he has two, one that's Jap and one that's not. The latter can be eliminated if you look at the last line in his first post. He asked if he needed to buy a Jap memory card as well if he got another PS2.

Swap Magic cannot break your PS2. It even says that it won't void the PS2 warranty.

And, no, you don't need a Japanese memory card. Matter of fact, there's no difference between Japanese, English, or any other type of memory card.

People like to ask about swap magic. So I'll leave it open anyways.

So i finally decided to import and stop crying about the game being in japanese, my copy of FM arrived yesterday and my swap magic disks should be arriving hopefully within the next week. I don't know why i didn't just get the fliptop ( i have a ps2 slim v14) but i went with the tape and tissue method.

Now i watched just about every video i could seem to find on the tape and tissue method, as well as swap magic in general. In some videos they tape back the brake or use a straw to keep it pushed back, and in none of my research can i find where they clarify what the purpose of taping the brake is. So if anyone knows why this is i would appricate it if you could tell me.

Sorry for reviving this thread, but afterall it is open for swap magic questions.

I have the fliptop for Slimline PS2. It may voice the warranty, but personally, I find it 100% more convenient. I even bough some other one that was suppost to keep the PS2 lid open but it just didn't work.
