Well there are many reasons. Maybe because of the connection with Xion, or Ventus, or even Sora.
Techncially, Sora has two hearts (With Ventus;now Roxas.)

When he fought Sora, it show him using two keyblade against him.
If Roxas is connected with Sora heart, he would be using Sora keyblade.

So my theory is ,
I guess being a nobody of Sora give him the ablitity of using a Keyblade , and he is able to use a keyblade from Ventus.
Sora is able to use dual keyblade too, possibly by the fact of having Ventus heart.

BUT, let make things super interesting.
Roxas never use dual keyblade in 358 days, only after Xion death.
So I guess when Xion dies, she goes back into Roxas with a few adjustment, possibly by the fact where the replica have a real keyblade of some sort.
So, going back to Roxas, he is able to use dual keyblade. One from him, one from Xion.

After playing the Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep game, I believe that Roxas has two keyblades because he is a part of Sora and Ventus. Therefore, he can use both Sora's and Ventus's Keyblades at the same time. Sora has two keyblades when he goes into drive form because I think (not sure) that he is somehow gets 'synchronized' with Ven's heart during that time therefore he has the power to dual wield.

Roxas can wield the keyblade because he is Sora's nobody. He can dual wield because he has Ven's heart inside him(which is why he has feelings). Sora can wield 2 keyblades durig drive form because it adds to gameplay. lol

Actually, Roxas can weild two keyblades because he had the power of Xion. Xion's power with Roxas ability to wield the keyblade, gave him the will of two.

In the game, Sora first obtained the ability to wields two keyblade at the same time when he reached the world that never was, specifically after entering the castle.

My theory is that because Sora had battled Roxas in his minds before and subconsciously accepted Roxas as part of himself. Therefore, Roxas' ability to wield dual keyblade was transferred to Sora.

Oh yeah, you could be right. Because during that battle with final form Xehanort. He grabbed Riku's keyblade and started attacking Xemnas with it. I caught that too. How he was able to wield two in that battle without his drive form. Maybe he does have the ability to wield two keyblades.

Actually, Ven's heart was in Roxas, but when Xion disappeared, it unlocked Ven's heart, which caused him to dual wield.

I actually notice that Keyblade Wielders can wield other peoples' Keyblade other than their own. This may be one of the many abilities a Keyblade Wielder has.

My evidence would be that in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, when Riku and Roxas started to fight each other. Riku was able to use Roxas' Oblivion and fight with it. Another evidence would be that like you said about during the battle witn final form Xehanort, when Sora used Riku's Keyblade to fight Xehanort. My last evidence would be when Riku gave Kairi Destiny's Embrace. If Destiny's Embrace is really Kairi's Keyblade and Riku was holding it, then you know what I mean.
