Yea, I like her. I like her more than Kairi, in fact. Namine was well-developed in CoM. Sure, she did all those dubious things to Sora, so it's not as though she's a stereotypically pure and good person, but she puts everything right again afterwards, which demonstrates her humanity. I sympathise with her character as she is someone to be pitied. And then in KHII, she helps to make a future for herself and Roxas. Namine changed from being exploited to being someone who has the will to exert changes.

I guess for me it's half in half 'cause she made Sora forget about Goofy and Donald.
But she was helpful in the game.

I liked her in Chain of Memories, but... The KHII novels are what sealed it for me. She's such a tragic character in the novels...

So, I like her. I like virtually all Nobodies, though.

Yeah, Namine is most likely my favorite original character from Kingdom Hearts (with Riku next and then Vexen). I suppose it's the fact that she's just a young girl, whereas the other Nobodies are adults, that makes her situation more sympathetic. I used to say I liked her much better than Kairi as well, but I've come to realize that Kairi isn't that bad. It's just her voice actor in the first game combined with her horrible design that really grates on my nerves and made me not like her.

I liked Namine from the beginning, even though she suffered from the same disease as many of the female characters in games and anime that are directed towards a male audience do (think Naruto...), namely that she gets pushed into the role of a damsel in distress.
It was worse in CoM I think, and it got better in KHII. At least her existance doesn't consist only of being kidnapped like Kairi's.
Don't get me wrong on this, I like Kairi, but I don't like the way she was always "used" as a bait.
Yes, Marluxia did the same thing with Namine, but the feeling was a little different - it didn't seem to be a routine at that time. Maybe it's just me, but the feel was a little different, not like "we're the bad guys and now we takez away the main characterz love interezt, lol".. ^^;

...beside all that, I think her dress is just darling.

lol darling dress

I prefer her over Kairi whos always Mary-Sue'n all the time T_T
But she never seems happy though, at the end of KHII Roxas did a big cheesy grun grin and she smiled like OMFG WHAT A RETARD yay...everythings good....I miss my cage blah blah

Namine is a very interesting character!
I really enjoyed this character in Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts: II. Anyway, her role shocked me, but we learned who she really was by the end of COM and the start of KH2.
