Well, it's not like it is a coincidence or something crazily astronomical like that.
These last three installments of the KH series's purpose were to tell the story of Sora and co.

Not that I am saying their story is over... Just let me know if Nomura says it.

That's true.. When I noticed that the 2nd game didn't revolve around them as much as the first installment did, I didn't think that this one would. Both of your points make sense though- it's simply just focusing on Sora & his homies.

Namine just started erasing the memory of Kairi gradually, and replaced it with her being there.

I remember Sora going through the castle constantly talking about saving namine, so thats what i saw. But I guess behind it all, he really was looking for Kairi, it was just his memories messing with him.

Even though a good bit of the game involves looking for Riku and whatever else they think is in Castle Oblivion, I'm not really surprised that the game spends a good deal with the whole thing between Sora and Kairi. He spent the first game trying to rescue her, there's the charm she loaned him, not to mention it's completely obvious he's got a crush on her Then taking into account he's dealing with Namine in that game, it's not surprising that she's brought up a lot.

Sora "remembers" telling Namine that he would protect her. His "memory" was that there was a meteor shower at the island and Namine was scared and Sora told her that he would protect her. That's why he has to get to her so bad. He feels it is his duty to protect her.

It might have been a little surprising to see that CoM focused just as much on Kairi and Sora as KHI, if you're expecting it to be more focused on the Organization or on Noboides in general. While all the games so far have focused a lot on Sora and Riku, and a good deal of Kairi, those "homies" certainly aren't the only focus of the game. KH has so many levels: there's the worlds and their history, world traveling, fantasy and sci-fi elements, villians, side-characters, and not to mention game play. If you're only focusing on the three main characters, KH gets pretty dull. The big picture, past and present, is what makes it interesting to me.

Naminé erased ALL his old memories, in floor 3 or 2 sora donald and goofy are talking about the castle oblivion and another castle...goofy is telling about being in an other castle but nobody had memories about the adventure in the castle...they even forgot the name "Hollow Bastion"
