Yeah, so I'm gonna have to go with the original being the best. There were aspects from the other games I would have liked in the original, but if I was only allowed to play one Kingdom Hearts game the rest of my life, it'd be the original. smile.gif You guys?

So far, I'd say that I enjoyed KH2 the most, but that's just so far. BbS will probably be the best game of the series :/
But I can't really pick that one as of yet.. So I'm just gonna say I likes them alls.

I don't DISLIKE any of them, it's just that, Chain of Memories was mostly KHI in a nutshell, with the story happening between the floors. Kingdom Hearts II, has a confusing, hole infested but still acceptable story, but its main flaw is the difficulty and the overuse of reaction commands in favor cooler scenes during battle. The first Kingdom Hearts has the perfect story, the so far most balanced battle system and and a very nicely dose of Disney and Final Fantasy characters.

When Kingdom Hearts ended, I was excited for the next game because I was really curious as to what happens next. When Kingdom Hearts II ended I wanted a next game because it left too many unanswered questions in my head.

And now I think Birth by Sleep might just be as good as the first game, or if we're lucky better.

Gameplay-wise...yeah, the others are better (except maybe CoM). And for music, BBS easily tops it. But, in terms of execution, Kingdom Hearts is probably the most balanced. The story runs on something simple, and does a fine job in meshing the world of Square and Disney together, while still maintaining that "Disney magic". ...and on top of that, it is the least confusing.

And, as a game, it practically is the only game that could stand on its own. It could be the only game in the series and it wouldn't matter too much. The games after it...well...yeah, aren't so lucky. That's what I think anyway.

The first game still has the best gameplay, story, and characters. It was more than just button jamming in the first game. So far the sequels have all been downhill from there. I'm scared that BBS will try too much to work more from the reaction commands, and make it too easy.

Yah, I would probably have to agree that KH1 was the best for sure. Even though I did like the Organization...

One of the things that was great about KH1 was that it wasn't always so obvious what you were suppose to do. There were some times when I would actually find myself at a loss, or just simply lost. Which at some points was relatively easy if you refused to view a walkthrough. But the second one everything was so... straight forward.

I wouldn't say that completely, in terms of story, yeah most of the games wouldn't be too great on their own(I still think BBS could possibly handle well on its own, but idk). But in terms of gameplay and everything else, I that most of the games stand well mostly because of that. Many people have played kingdom hearts soley for gameplay and not story, and same for kh2. Other games like CoM and 358 focused more on story than gameplay(added being sidestories) which is why those titles didn't stand out as much. But BBS clearly managed a perfect balance between gameplay and story, in the end it's just a game, so if it has gameplay thats good people will still like it, honestly many people felt that for the first game.

But in terms of execution, KH1 is where it's at. But I hope it's not nostalgia that's getting in people's way, because I honestly think BBS is a better game(by having better gameplay than the first). Nostalgia=/=Being better.

BBS has a promising battle system, but as I haven't played it myself. I hope it pulls it off.

After a while, when I start to play the series, I realize that KH1 was better because its what started it all. It's classic and its what made me like the game. KH2 got boring after i beat it, but kh1 never got boring. Just more addicting.

I can't see how anyone would defend CoM or Days. Those 2 are at the bottom of my "omg, so disappointed" list. :<

KHI is my pick for the gameplay-story balance.

If I had to pick one, I'd say that KH2 is the best I've played so far. I love the Organization and the storyline, even though cutscenes can get somewhat annoying if a part is difficult to beat.

I can't really say that I have a favorite, though; I really love them all. I guess it's just KH as a whole that draws me in, and as long as it really relates, I'm sure I'd love it, haha. ^^'

I'd have to agree that kh1 is the best. Kh2 is just to easy, and Kh:CoM is the side story soooo.... yeah...

If I could only have one game, i'd pick the first one, because like alot of people here said, it's the most balanced.

I would play kh1 if i had only 1 choice. I think that kh1 being the original kingdom hearts game, is the best one and generally the first game in a series is usually the best.

My favourite has to be KH2 surprisingly (well final mix). How much I love the first game the second is so much more fluid and is beautiful in so many ways. When I first saw the sky in TWTNW my heart dropped. (being able to fight all of the Org members in the Garden Of Rememberence was the most fun I've had doing a sidequest in a game ever)

No it isn't from a technical standpoint: KH2 blows the original away in every area except originality and freshness biggrin.gif which is why some people prefer the 1st.. it's not the better Game but some people just seem to respect it more. Admitedly the 2nd was or at least to me felt a bit more linear but again that is a preference not a flaw. The only thing I didn't like was how easy it was, KH1 was a bit of a challenge even on standard diffculty but the reaction, limt and drive forms all made the combat less involving and less tactical. It was pretty much KH on Steroids...

Edit: I dunno what I find more humourous, the fact you put "For some rason I like KH Mobile" as if it is a weird choice, or the fact that someone has voted it.

KH was original. the second just threw the character into a repeat of each world's respective disney movie, CoM was a repeat of the original KH except they inserted 'memories' wherever they talked about hearts in the original, and 358/2 days was good but each mission felt detached from the main story, and you only progressed the main plot at the tower in twilight town. KH incorporated the Disney worlds into the main plot, had a fun world to explore, and a unique story with very few anime influences (not that i dont like Anime BTW)

I would have to say that KH2 is better than KH1 was. The tone is KH2 became more serious and the game was primarily an improvement over the first game. I thought that for starters, the Reaction Commands were a great addition. The enhanced graphics were great. The more intense storyline was much more interesting. Just overall, KH2 seemed better to me.

This.

Kingdom Hearts executes itself perfectly. The idea felt fresh and the worlds were large and open for exploration. It is a stark contrast of it's sequel. Kingdom Hearts 2 was very linear. I missed seeing unattainable treasure chests and returning to past worlds once I acquired High Jump or Glide to obtain an item. Kingdom Hearts 2 lacked that; all the treasure chests were just laid out in front of you, recquiring no challenge to get them, and the worlds felt closed off, like there was just one set path and one set path only. Speaking of challenge, because of the lack of reaction commands, the first game had more challenge.

But I did vote for Kingdom Hearts 2, and I bet you're saying 'huh?!' but the reason why I did is because Kingdom Hearts 2 was so much more cinematic and held much more of an epic feel. Sure, there were some epic fights in the first, but I believe Kingdom Hearts 2 holds a greater scale in terms of presentation and style. I enjoyed them both equally though.

I have a feeling that Birth By Sleep will be my absoluate fave though...

They're equal for me. KH was less automated without reaction commands which gave the game more of a challenge. Also KH2 had the same 'go rescue Kairi' plot to it thrown into the mix which felt too similar to the original. On the other hand, as some people said, KH2 felt more epic. Ugh, I really can't pick, but I do know that I like Days better than CoM, despite the fact that Days was depressing.

Maybe that's why it was better? Because you'd only find it depressing if you could connect with the characters. I find that bittersweet endings always stick in my memories over the perfect happy endings, because the former gives me something to think about. I usually want the characters that I like to come out on top, and when they don't, I'm prompted to think about how they could have.

Huh. Come to think of it, that is one of the reasons why I like Days better. I tend to like bittersweet or sad endings better because they do have more of an impact overall.

Of course the first one is best above all. If it wasn't for Kingdom Hearts we wouldn't the ten other games that were stemmed off of it.

The original had some magic to it. I was also a lot younger when the first one came out so thats probably why I like it the most.

I also liked the challenge of KHI more then the second. Even on proud mode kh2 was too easy.

For me, it was a no brainer. Kingdom Hearts has always been my favorite. I have gone back and played through the second one. But Kingdom Hearts I have gone back to more than 4 times, just to play through the story all over again. Each time, I noticed a different detail that escaped me the previous times, and the battles never got old to me.

Kingdom Hearts 2 had nice features, but to me, the reaction commands seemed useless and I'd rather have Donald and Goofy than have the forms.
