I was browsing the Kingdom Hearts wikia and I popped into the forums and I saw a topic that said
"Jungle Book world unveiled!".

http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/index.php?t...=20100513210535

Now of course I was curious so I checked it out. When I opened the topic it had a link to the video. Now I get skeptical about external links to youtube incase of youtube spammers so I muted the speakers and opened it. Only to find it was a genuine video so here it is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gzU4LkbYE8

Now I think its genuine for a few reasons.
-King Louie's room is far too detailed to be a hacker's work. For god's sake the throne chair is so similar to the chair in the film!
-During the segment where Ventus is in control, it is obvious that the z collisions are working.
-The area outside of the village looks almost like it does in the film.

Anywho, I hope this enlightens you all! Next topic will be about the possible disney worlds!

It's been confirmed. Found by an old KH hacker (Erkz) who was messing around with a room mod.

Really disappointing to know this wasn't in the game. Not like I wasn't satisfied with the worlds they did include, but they were on the shorter side.

Funny how this is the second time they passed on The Jungle Book. Nomura had considered it for KH1, but instead opted for Tarzan.
Perhaps that's why it got shafted this time too- Neverland does look pretty similar. But even then I don't think that's a good excuse. I mean, quite a few of the other worlds have similar themes (medieval/early modern Europe).

It's great to know it's been confirmed. Sucks to hear that this is the 2nd time it's been taken out. Though if you think about it, the more times it's delayed, the time it's eventually used it will be amazing.

EDIT : To be fair, if they did it in BBS, they wouldn't be able to do it more than once as in my opinion, like Peter Pan, the Jungle Book world can be done many times due to Shere Khan running off.

This is disappointing news. I wanted to see Deep Jungle return in KH2, or at least CoM, but it didn't, because of some copyright issues, I believe. Regardless, I'm sure we'll eventually see this world.

Copyright issues were with Deep Jungle/Tarzan, not Jungle Book: to my knowledge.

Still, this doesn't surprise me, Nomura's probably stretching world use so he doesn't run out of options.

Man, I hated Deep Jungle, dropping from those trees and landing in the water with the hippos... such a pain.

Also, was it just me or did that Jungle Book room seem quite small? Not quite 'Olympus Colosseum's foyer' small, but still pretty small.

I do love me some hacked KH, so this is a great find.

I would love, LOVE to see the Jungle book in KH3

I'd rather have waited on this to get a full blown world than some dink and dunk deal

Wasn't there a hack for a Sword in the Stone World as well?

I remember one.

^THERE WAS A HACK FOR SWORD IN THE STONE!? What in God's name would make them remove that!? WHY!!!! (Nothing to see here, just a King Arthur fanboy who has wanted Camelot since day one.)

As for the Jungle Book... I love that movie and would have LOVED to see that. Too bad it got removed. Again, WHY? LOL

Awesome to see them get close to putting it in the game. Shame they didn't. :(

If there was indeed a hack for a Sword in the Stone world, I (and many others I'm sure) would like to see proof of it.

Yeah and don't forget the world where you can see King Mickey and Riku at the other side of the Door Of Light in Kingdom Hearts (I).

You can see it at 3:51

As far as we know, the only dropped world was The Jungle Book.

There was no proof of The Sword in the Stone being dropped. I heard there was a blank room with a name speculated to be connected to The Sword in the Stone, but nothing concrete. It could have just as well been for any other world.

A shame it wasn't in the game. Merlin being in Radiant Garden doesn't make much sense since he didn't even know its name before Hollow Bastion...

Really??
Spoiler

Edit: Oh, and Grassy, you're totally right! Though I really hoped I would see Pooh again... But then again, wouldn't make any sense, cause (at least I think) Sora is the first person who actually gets into the book.

I'd say you could put that down to Nomura's habit of making everyone just 'forget' stuff.
Xion - Forgotten
Namine and the events of CoM - Forgotten
Everything once the worlds were restored at the end of KH - Forgotten
Xehanort's memory of everything when he gets his facelift - Forgotten
Sora's mum - Forgotten

I really kind of wish that they included this instead of Tarzan, if only because the Tarzan world didn't seem to offer anything other than a key. With Jungle Book they could've added a lot more, like perhaps a King Louie summon or something. Not to mention, the music, in my opinion was much catchier in the Jungle Book than in Tarzan. I mean.... King LOUIE!!! Who doesn't want a greedy heartless run monkey to attack?! Nomura! Get with the Jungle Book program!

I think I may know why it was scrapped. A Disney cartoon TaleSpin got into some legal battles (that they ultimately lost) after a suit by Gia Maione, the widow of American singer Louis Prima (who played King Louie in Jungle Book). Early in development Gia may have refused to rent out usage rights, or possibly Disney didn't want to tangle with her again and asked Square Enix to cut out King Louie or skip the world entirely.

"Another controversy related to TaleSpin involved the character Louie. In 2001, the widow of Louis Prima, who had voiced the scat singing orangutan in The Jungle Book, filed suit against Disney for "breach of contract, non-payment of royalties, unjust enrichment, fraud and negligent misrepresentation". At issue were back royalties owed for profits made from video and DVD sales of The Jungle Book and unauthorized use of her husband's voice and its likeness in shows like TaleSpin (Jim Cummings's impersonation of Prima's voice was near-perfect). Although the case was eventually settled out of court, Disney has since chosen to avoid any further trouble and has refrained from using the character in anything else (Louie's final appearance to date was the House of Mouse episode "King Louie"). It was due to this lawsuit that Louie was conspicuously absent from The Jungle Book 2 (2003); he is the only major Jungle Book character to never have appeared in the 2003 film."

The source isn't all that grand (the source referenced in the wiki seems to have been relocated or removed); I'm using it purely for informative purposes. I would have liked to see a TaleSpin world myself. :(

Yes, in my opinion, it would be cool to the Jungle Book in KH3! Go "The Bare Necessities"!

If it's found in the data of the game then it means they were working on it.

Sora's mum - Forgotten

I know right? What happened with Sora's mom??? They gave her a voice and everything and now they don't even talk about her in the series no more. And where's Sora's dad??? Also, the KHU Podcast that Jungle Book was originally was going to be there but....they never got to it.

Because KH is about friendship and family isn't important.
