before you get mad, I already sent a notification to administrators for my other thread.

I would really like to rip (for my personal use) the english voice clips of the Final Mix games (and of Chain of memories, if possible). do you have any insight on how to do this?

thank you

There is one way I know to rip audio, but it can be a bit involved.

1 - Find a way to record the game, either via burning to DVD or capture device (I used the latter for a game).
2 - If you used the DVD method, rip the DVD to the computer.
3 - Get a program to convert the video's sound to an audio file (I found a free converter program ages ago, but can't remember its name).
4 - Snip the file into parts and save (Audacity is free and should be able to handle this).
- Alternatively, you can use a video editing program to trim the video into parts (Windows Movie Maker's free with Windows), then convert them to a sound file. You won't have to mess with them after that

That's how I've done things in the past. Sound quality was still decent, so I had no complaints. Used it to rip sound from a game, and music from a DVD before.

To get the battle quotes without any background battle noises, you'd have to rip the sound from the game files itself. I'm not sure how to do that, sorry ^^; I only know how to rip the sound you get from playing it.

I found something a while back called Cubemedia2 that would do the trick.

It takes a while to scan the disk, but it'll give you audio files. From there, it's up to you to change the settings so they're audible, comprehensible and generally running at a normal speed.

Example from the original Kingdom Hearts.
I don't have time for this kind of thing any more, so don't ask me how I did what I did, as I did it about 4 years ago.

Good luck.
