Don't use Shotlock. Don't use Cure commands either, use Potions - he can copy any Cure command you use. Regular potions are fine, so long as your HP stays above 1. Obviously having Second Chance and Once More is a must. Don't block his attacks either, just evade them. You need to use the Mine spells (Mine Shield and Mine Square).
If you want to get away from his first attack, rush in and attack him quickly for 1 - 2 hits and then back off quickly. Just dodge him and lay mine traps for the rest of the battle. It takes a little while to get used to this pattern, but that's really all you can do to win this fight. With Ventus you have the added bonus of the Tornado spell, which does quite a bit of damage and can be spammed pretty easily to win.

EDIT: I just beat him! I tried for a couple hours earlier at level 62 but I could only get about half of his bar of health down before I ran out of potions. So I leveled up to 80 and tried again. It still took a few tries but I got him. The commands I had were Fire Dash, Fire Surge, Thunder Surge, 2 Mine Squares, and 3 Mega Potions. I used Demolition twice in the fight and even though I think I only hit him with it once, it paid off. I finished him off with retaliating slash when I was low on health and potions. It was badass! And I wasn't even thinking about a prize, I just wanted to beat him. I was surprised when I got the Void Gear cause thats probably the most badass keyblade in the game!
Thanks again for the tips KieranCarden.

Whoops, I forgot all about the Mysterious Figure. He was way tougher than Vanitas' lingering spirit.

I thought the same thing at first until I just spammed The lingering spirit with the tornado move. But the mysterious figure had way to many cheap moves. Especially the stopping time one.

I would probably raged at the game. But that would make it extremely fun. Most FF games were always that difficult, but since this is Disney. They wanna make it less hard for the kiddies. Hardest bosses of all time: Sephiroth, Kurt Zisa, Phantom, Mysterious Figure, Unknown, No Heart, Lingering Will, Vanitas' Remnant, Armor of the Master. I think that's most of the extreme hard bosses.

Yeah, that was actually stated about for the kids, but that's why there's an easy mode for them to play. The game shouldn't be easy in proud mode.

LMAO, I don't even think kids could beat those bosses on a very easy either. I don't know any 8 year old kid who probably beat Vanitas's Spirit.

I would be so proud of that 8 year old if he did that. I'd send the vid to square and say bump up the difficulty now. lol
