BBSFM Language swap?

So I guess the dev team was lazy when making FM because they based it off the international version. English language files start at 0x28d44000 in BBS0.DAT
Tell me I'm not the only one who noticed this, there must be a way to swap the language files or tell the game to load the English ones instead.

That is pretty interesting to know... and I do suppose it would save them a lot of time.
I googled an english patch for the game and found someplace putting one together.
In fact I just googled and found the page again and somebody did what your talking about using hex editing.
Which i know almost nothing about but there is an english patch file on this site
If you can figure out how to install it, it'd be cool if you could share haha

Patch files are files put together by hex-editors to go into a game and change the data around some. Most the time they do anti-piracy patches or language patches. I actually managed to install the patch onto a BBS:FM file and it works pretty well, all the commands are in english and some other sutff, but there have been updates to the patch since then, but it's not very hard to install, the instructions are on the site.

Patch files almost sounds illegal, but if everyone is doing it then I guess theres nothing wrong with it.

Once people buy the game there allowed to do whatever they want to the data as long as they don't sell it or make money of of it

Do I need a computer to do this or is there another way to get patch files?

Ya you need a computer to do it. A computer and a hex editing program which you can find with a google search. if you google patch stuff for BBSFM you'll find a sites that will tell you how to do it.

There is a way, I'd start by asking Google for english patches. So far I've only seen BBSFM and KH2FM patched. KHFM never got one. Mind you these are all fan made and require a ps2 capable of playing back-ups or hard-drive booting.
