Well pretty much this is what happening.
Terra is fighting Xehanort in his mind.
Aqua is in the darkness.
Ven is with Sora.
Sora and Riku are entering the mark of mastery.
Xehanort is scheming his plans.
Mickey idk.
Now for the side keyblade wielders, Roxas, Xion, and Kairi.
Now these topic will explain how strong will they be and will some of them have strong important roles in the near future? Add what you like and discuss.

Let's start off with Terra. Ok let's get real, terra is the strongest out of all of them. Here's a simple fact. Terra been fighting off Xehanort for 10 years you know that he must have controlled his darkness like riku. And his emotions in the lingering spirit closed the door to Kingdom Hearts. He can even take control of Terranort shown in the Dream Drop Distance trailer. That more enough to show you what he can do.

Well, I don't think Roxas and Xion will show up in the series again since Xion was destroyed at the end of 358/2 and no one remembers her and Roxas rejoined with Sora at the end of KH 2. As for Kairi I think we're finally going to see what she can do with a keyblade and that she's worthy of Aqua choosing her.

That's what I think but if Kairi is going to be strong as the rest why isn't she taking the test?

I don't think she's ready for that yet. Sora and Riku have had the keyblade a lot longer than she has

Well, Nomura is full of surprises so he might let the Heartless/Nobodies/Unversed/Dream Eaters win.... Then again it is Disney....

My opinion everybody (including the nobodies) will each become an individual. That means Roxas and Xion maybe will come back and still will be able to wield a keyblade. Also, I feel that Aqua has the most experience in wielding a keyblade. I mean after all she finally acknowledged herself as a keyblade master.

In my opinion, I don't think that's going to happen. Because games like these don't end in tragedies, I believe.

Of course, Sora is going to be the one who's gonna save the missing keyblade weilders. The crew already ran into Terra. I wonder if Riku met Aqua or ran into her once.

He would have mentioned it. You don't forget about a hot girl with a keyblade that's stuck in a dark place filled with creatures.

That's true. Haha. But did Sora mention to King Mickey that he saw a random keyblader in a canyon who challenge him in a fight. So? lol

Im sure there will be a way to free Terra from Xehanort's control eventually.
True, Aqua is in the darkness but she has the company of Ansem the Wise, and if either Terra or Ven are freed, they will go looking for her if she doesn't escape first
Ven's body is still in a room in Castle Oblivion, but his heart is with Sora.
Mickey does whatever he wants.
Roxas might return but there is no guarantee.
I seriously doubt Xion will return.
Kairi does weild a keyblade, but she isnt really experienced, and she keeps returning to the islands.

I think it's important for Sora and Riku to complete their mark of mastery exams first.
Maybe Yen Sid was testing them to see whether they have the qualities to rescue the missing characters.

I used to think that finding Aqua should be the first thing to do since she knew where Ven's body was and she suceeded making Terra regained his consciousness and stabbed himself with keyblade to drive out the darkness.

No, Yen Sid is testing them because they have to go back to level 1 and learn to fight the right way.

Not only that they have to "unlock the Keyhole of Sleep and if they return back to Yen Sid then he will consider them as Keyblade Masters". At least that's what recent trailers said. I believe the Sleep World has something to do with confrontation, that's what I believe, but it may not be the case.

I bet Sora fails the exam from what we've seen in the trailer.

No, I don't think that will be the case. Maybe written exams, Sora might fail. But if it's something like this, Sora will become a Keyblade Master. Besides, I think in order to defeat Master Xehanort, both Sora and Riku need to become Keyblade Masters, so they have to pass.

I just rewatch the trailer and it seems that both Sora and Riku had to face the darkness and doubt in their hearts.
However, I believe that both of them will pass the test, but with some difficulties.

I think they will also pass the test, but it might take longer for Sora....

You don't have to pass something in order to beat the bad guy.

Yeah, you're right, but still Master Yen Sid did say if they came back to the waking world, then he will consider them as Keyblade Masters.

When you said Sora might fail it, that means he will still be in the sleep world and how can he beat the bad guy who probably may be in the waking world if he is in the sleeping world still. Am I right?

When I said Sora might fail, I meant something will happen and he will still get out, but he won't be a keybalde master, and then he will still beat Xehanort.

I still think the game will end with Sora in the control of the bad guys.
