Kingdom Hearts:

Chapter 19 - Final Battle with Ansem

"So you've finally reached me Keyblade master." Ansem said, as he came down from the throne chair, and began to circle around Sora. "To tell you the truth, I didn't expect you to make it past the Devial."
"Of course I'd make it past them. You actually call them elite?" Sora asked. He tightened his grip on the Keyblade, and never took his eyes off him. He moved with Ansem's movements.
"I never called them elite, but they sure took care of some of my enemies. Including your little friend Leon." Ansem said.
"LEON! What's he got to do with this?" Sora asked.
"Well you see, after I began to destroy worlds again, he came trying to destroy me, just as you are here to destroy me. But of course he fell before me. Now don't get me wrong, he was a terrific swordsman, but he just wasn't strong enough. I made sure he endured much pain, before I finished him off." Ansem replied.
"You...you monster." Sora said, as he brought his Keyblade up, and prepared to charge.
"Why thank you Keyblade master. I always love to make my victims endure much pain before I decide to finish them off, as will you. But I expect a much better show out of you, than your friends gave me." Ansem said.
"My friends. What are they in this for?" Sora asked, as he let his Keyblade down.
"Well, when they wouldn't give me the answer of the whereabouts of your little girlfriend, I decided that they were no longer needed, but as I said before, I always make sure that my victims endure plenty of pain before I took their hearts.
"You...you inhuman BITCH!" Sora screamed, as he once again prepared to charge. "I'm gonna make sure that every heart you took will be repaid for, and that you die with that."
"You know, just like you, I've heard that saying too many times. It's also kind of ironic that you're saying that to me, when in fact that is your destiny." Ansem said.
"What do you mean?" Sora asked, as he once again let the Keyblade down.
"Well ever since you took hold of that weapon, or as you call it that burden. Your destiny was to fall to me. You knew it all along, you could felt it in your gut when you first met me." Ansem said, as he pointed at the Keyblade.
"No, I refuse to fall to you. I WILL NEVER FALL TO YOU!!" Sora screamed, as he began to charge at Ansem.
"You're too weak Keyblade master." Ansem said, as he stood his ground. Sora thrust the Keyblade into his chest, and felt satisfied with his kill. Ansem looked down at the wound and sighed. Sora didn't feel safe now that he seemed unharmed by the attack. Sora backed away, leaving the Keyblade in Ansem's chest.
"I told you, didn't I? You can't kill me." Ansem said. He pulled the Keyblade out of his chest, and looked at the hole that was now in his body. He looked back up at Sora, and closed his eyes, and tilted his head up. Sora looked back at Ansem's wound and that a black mist now covered the wound.
Just as quickly as it had appeared, it then disappeared, and there was nothing left of the wound, not even a scratch.
"Just like new." Ansem said. He took hold of the Keyblade by the hilt, and struck Sora in the ribs with it, knocking him into the far wall. "Oh, and here's your little toy." Ansem said, as he threw the Keyblade back over to where Sora now laid.
Sora tried to get up, but found that his ribs were giving off too much pain now. He felt as if they were broken, and he now wished that he hadn't left Donald and Goofy behind. He could really use their help now. He lifted his head, and looked over to see that the Keyblade was next to him.
"Why'd you give it back?" Sora asked.
"I want to take it from you when you're dead. And I would also like to fight you in your prime." Ansem said. He held out his hand towards Sora, and Sora saw this gesture. He prepared for an attack, but when he opened his eyes again, he didn't see an attack coming, but the same black mist that had healed Ansem.
The mist began to shroud Sora, and as it did, he could feel himself being lifted off the ground. He struggled to get out of the mist, but soon found that there was no way out. He found that he was holding his breath. He let it out, but he was surprised to find that he could breathe, even in the mist. He could feel himself being let back down, and when he could feel ground underneath his feet, he opened his eyes again. He felt no pain anymore. All this surprised him. He lifted his shirt to find the wrap was now gone.
"I know it must be strange to you, to be healed faster than a regular humans healing time, but like I said, I want to fight you in your prime. Now shall we resume our battle?" Ansem asked. Sora took hold of his Keyblade again.
"You made a mistake by healing me." Sora said.
"Oh is that so." Ansem said.
"SORA!" someone yelled from behind Sora. Sora turned around to see Riku standing in the doorway to the outside.
"Riku, what are you doing here?" Sora said.
"Well I came when Tidus said that you were going after Ansem." Riku said.
"Well then...LOOK OUT!" Sora yelled, as he noticed a fireball hurling straight for Riku. Riku saw the attack, but didn't have enough time to react, and was knocked out to the corridor.
"Now that that distraction is out of the way." Ansem said, but he now say the King standing in the doorway, looking at Riku. "What is with all the distractions today?" Ansem asked. He held his hand out to the door, and the door shut on it's own, and was quickly covered by a purple shield, much like the one that had blocked Sora off from Ansem the first time.
"Now that all distractions are out of the way, shall we resume battle?" Ansem asked.

"Riku...Riku, are you okay?" The King asked.
"W...wh....what? What happened?" Riku asked, as he began to come around again.
"Well you were struck by Ansem's fireball, and now you're in the wall." The King replied.
"What!" Riku said, as he opened his eyes. He was indeed stuck in the wall. "Well do you mind getting me out of here?" Riku asked.
"Sure, I'll help ya." The King replied. The king helped Riku get down from the wall. Riku brushed the plaster off his robe, and looked back over to the door.
"Uhhh...What's with the big purple thing over the door?" Riku asked.
"Well, it seems to be some sort of dark shield." The King said, as he walked over to the shield, and touched it. The shield gave off an electric shot into the king's hand. "And it really hurts."
"Well, I'm a being of the dark, let's see if I can make it through this." Riku said, as he walked up to the shield. He took a deep breath, and walked into the shield. The shield gave off another electrical discharge, and knocked Riku back out of it.
The King rushed over to him. "Riku, Riku, are you okay?" The King asked.
"Yea...yea, I'm fine. I guess being one of the dark is not enough." Riku said, as he got back up. He walked back over to the shield. "Hmmmmm." Riku said to himself.
"What is it?" The King asked. "What are you thinking?"
"Well maybe the Soul eater will be able to take this thing down." Riku said, as he brought out his own Keyblade.
"It might, but be real careful Riku." The King said, as he backed away from the shield.
"Well, let's hope this works." Riku said. He raised the Keyblade, and brought it down on the shield as hard as he could. He opened his eyes to find that, there was no damage to himself, but there was also no damage to the shield. "Well I guess that didn't work." Riku said to himself.
"What are we going to do now?" The King asked.
"There's nothing more that we can do, let's just hope Sora can hold his own in this battle.

***

"I asked if you were ready to resume the battle." Ansem said. Sora looked back from the door.
"Yea, yea, I heard ya the first time. And I am ready to continue our battle." Sora replied, as he brought his Keyblade back up.
"Insolent brat." Ansem said to himself.
"Great, now that he can't die, how am I going to finish him off?" Sora asked himself.
"What are you mumbling over there? Do I have to make the first move?" Ansem asked.
"No, I will. FIRAGA!" Sora yelled, as he aimed the Keyblade at Ansem, and fired the spell off. Ansem knocked it away as if it were a fly, but when he did, he saw that a Blizzaraga was now coming towards him.
He didn't have enough time to react this time, and he was frozen solid.
The ice began to disappear quickly after Ansem was frozen. It then broke and he came out with a roar.
"Now I'm PISSED!" Ansem yelled, but before he could react he was knocked back into the opposite wall. He came out from the hole that was now created in the plaster. "What the hell was that?" Ansem asked.
"That was me!" Sora said, as he came charging at Ansem again.
"Alright you little bitch, you've really pissed me off." Ansem yelled. Sora was about to strike, but Ansem blew him back from something. Sora looked up and saw that Ansem was now engulfed in a deep purple flame.
"This is my shield you little bitch." Ansem yelled, as he began to walk towards Sora. Sora got up, but found that the Keyblade was no longer in his hands, he looked back, and saw that it was at least 10 feet away from where he had landed. He began to run after it, but a sudden fire arose around him. It formed a circle around him. He looked back, and saw that the fire suddenly had parted in one region of the ring that was no around him.
"You look so pathetic over there, in the corner. You seem almost too pathetic to kill, but as everyone else was, they were like poor little puppy dogs, waiting to be put down. And that's what I'm going to do to you now." Ansem said, as he walked closer to Sora. Sora knew there was no way out now, he'd have to face Ansem with his bare hands.
Sora lunged at him, as he got closer, but when he was about to reach his body, the flames that engulfed Ansem, knocked him back. Sora got up, and found that there was a small fire on his jacket. He quickly put it out, and prepared to fight again, but knew there was nothing he could do.
Sora lunged at him again, as he got closer but was once again unsuccessful at even touching him. This time Sora felt too weak to get up. Sora could hear the crackling of the fire, that was just behind him, but the most defining sound, was that of Ansem's footsteps, that were now almost over him.
Sora felt himself being picked up, and knew that this would be the end. Ansem would get his wish, and obtain the Keyblade, and Sora would get his own wish for the burden to end. He could feel his throat being forcefully closed. He didn't exactly like the feeling, but if this was going to be the way it had to end, then he didn't care how it happened.
He felt like he did when Laxaeus was beating on him. He felt like everything around him stopped. He could feel himself beginning to slip into unconsciousness, but then he was tossed aside. The fire was no longer around him. He began to cough, and got up. He was unsure why he was let go, but for now he didn't ask questions.
"Get up, and get your weapon." Ansem said. Sora suddenly felt as if he should keep fighting. And now he was unsure why he wanted to die in the first place. He then remembered the promise he had made to Kairi. He got up, and looked over to find the Keyblade beside him. He picked it up, and looked back to where Ansem was.
The fire was now gone, and so was Ansem. Sora looked around, but couldn't find him. He then looked forward again, and saw Ansem charging towards him. Sora braced himself for some more pain from Ansem's shield, but then Ansem was knocked back by something, but it had moved too quickly for Sora to see.
"You almost gave yourself up back there, Keyblade master." Someone said from beside Sora. Sora looked over to see a man in a strange red suit. The suit had some sort of symbol on it, but Sora didn't care much for this, because what he noticed most were the bandage like cloth that was covering his head. He could only see one eye, and the person's mouth.
"The name is DiZ. And just ignore the strange clothes." DiZ said.
"Who are you?" Sora asked.
"I told you, my name is DiZ." DiZ replied. "So Ansem...I have one question. How did you get your greedy hands to control my operatives?" DiZ asked.
"I have my own way of persuasion." Ansem replied.
"Yes, yes, I know that, but who are you? And why are you helping me?" Sora asked, regaining DiZ's attention.
"This man has been using my operatives for his own needs. I'm the head of the Organization." DiZ replied.
"Anything else you need to know?" He asked.
"No, as long as you're my ally." Sora said.
"For now." DiZ said. Sora noticed this strange comment, but decided to ask later.

***

"What is it Riku?" The King asked. Riku had suddenly stopped moving around, and was trying to smell the air.
"Riku. What is it?" The King asked again.
"Oh, well, I can smell DiZ in there." Riku said.
"What! Are you sure?" The King asked.
"Positive." Riku said, as he looked away from the doors, and down at the King.
"Hey, you're majesty." Someone said. Riku, and the King looked over to see Donald and Goofy running towards them.
"Donald. Goofy, what're you guys doin' here?" The King asked. They reached him, and began to hug the King.
"Jeez guys, I didn't know you missed him that much, otherwise I would've given him to you long ago." Riku joked.
"Oh, be quiet Riku, and help get these guys off me." The King said. At this remark, Donald, and Goofy let him go. "Thanks guys."
"No problem sir." Donald said.
"Oh, stop calling me that, you guys are my best friends. You don't have to call me sir." The King said. "Uuuuh...okay...Mickey." Donald said nervously.
"That's better." The King said. "Now back to business, first thing first. Do you know what that large hunk of metal back there was?" The King asked.
"Um...unfortunately, yes. It's called the Devial. It's one of Sora's old enemies. By the way, is he here?" Donald asked.
"Well that's just the thing. He's behind that." The King said, as he pointed to the now shield covered door.
"Can't you guys break it down?" Donald asked.
"Well so far...we haven't been able to." The King replied.
"Well then, Goofy, let's break it down." Donald said. Goofy walked up beside Donald, and prepared to charge. "GOOOOOOO!" Donald yelled. Goofy charged at the wall, with his shield out first. When he touched the shield the electric barrier shot him back.
"Goofy. Goofy, are you all right?" Donald asked.
"Gwarsh...sure mother...I'll go to my bed now." Goofy mumbled.
"Jeez, you're useless." Donald said. "Well if they want to fight with electricity, then we'll fight back with electricity." Donald aimed his wand at the shield, and then raised it to the ceiling. "THUNDARAGA!" Donald yelled. The ceiling was quickly covered with a black cloud, and multiple large lightning bolts all came down upon the shield. The shield seemed to waver for a moment, but the spell ended, and the shield recovered.
"Darn it." The King said, as he snapped his fingers.
"Like I said. There's nothing more that we can do, than hope that Sora survives this." Riku said.

***

"Well, well, well, if it isn't my old host. I thought I discarded you years ago." Ansem said, as he got back up from his attack. "How did you harm me?" Ansem asked.
"I was you. Remember. That shield you have doesn't block my attacks." DiZ replied.
"Well then, we'll just have to get rid of you once and for all." Ansem said. He shot another fireball at DiZ, but Sora got in the way, and knocked it away with the Keyblade. Sora looked back at DiZ, and gave him a thumbs up gesture, and DiZ gave one back, but when he looked beyond Sora, he noticed the fireball coming back "Look out Keyblade master." DiZ said. Sora looked back, and saw the fireball coming at him, he rolled out of the way. Sora then heard a loud scream coming from behind him. Sora looked back at DiZ and saw that he was now on fire. Sora began to feel fear again, he didn't want this to happen, but now that it was happening, he couldn't figure out what to do.
"NOOOOO, DiZ!" Sora yelled. DiZ ran around in a circle, screaming still.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And I thought you were strong." Ansem said, as he began to laugh maniacally.
"How can he watch this, with enjoyment?" Sora asked himself. As Ansem was still laughing, Sora saw an opportunity to attack. He moved out of Ansem's sight, and Ansem was still busy watching DiZ scream. DiZ was now on the floor, and was beginning to almost melt away.
"Now you DIE." Sora yelled, as he came in front of Ansem, and tried to strike, but the shield still stopped any of his attacks. Sora wouldn't give up though, and he kept striking at the shield. Ansem prepared to attack, but Sora now raised the Keyblade to his head level, and struck. The shield shattered like glass, and pieces flew everywhere.
Sora looked up, and saw the Keyblade was now stuck in Ansem's head. Ansem was almost completely frozen. Sora could hear him trying to choke out something.
"I...I can feel the wind. I can see the fields again. My old home." Ansem whispered. He then began to scream, and Sora could hardly take it. Ansem's scream wasn't human, it was too high, and to Sora it was more like a shrill screech.
